Relationship is important

We can’t be so focused on changing the world, that we neglect intimate relationship with our Father. If our vertical relationship isn’t growing and cultivating, then we will have nothing to offer in our horizontal relationships.

  3. Hi Chris, I’m really enjoying your blog 🙂 I believe now that relationship “is” God (Father, Son + Spirit), along with love and peace and so on….. This helps me understand Matt 18:20 “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” I understand the “in my name” as being relationship/fellowship/love rather than a specific Christian gathering. Therefore when we choose relationship over isolation, God is right there with us in our midst. So I am now seeing my horizontal relationships are also vertical; in fact I’m doing away with that terminology and now seeing all relationship in general as my relationship with God. From that perspective scriptures like Matt 5:23-24 make so much sense. Keen to hear your thoughts. Cheers, Rich

  4. Chris,
This is so true. God is the source of all wisdom, love, and understanding. Unless we continually learn from Him on our life’s path we become stagnant and have nothing fruitful to offer to other people. Thanks for the post.
