Wow, it’s been quite the journey over the last couple of months. Not only a whirlwind with our family going through several things, but also with God revealing Himself to me like never before. I’m beginning to see that I am just now learning what it truly means to be born again.
For years, even though I professed to be a Christian, I have been living through my flesh. 2 Corinthians 5 says we no longer see people through the flesh, but through the Spirit. We see others with their created value. God created every single person on this planet, and He used the blueprint of His very own image.
I used to allow people, life, and circumstances to shape me. When life threw me a curve ball, I questioned God, and all the while, the truth of the Gospel never changed. It’s crazy the ways we were brought up to think and believe about certain things. I believe that’s why Paul wrote in Romans 12:2 for us to be transformed by the renewing of our minds.
When Adam and Eve ate the fruit in the Garden, a new mindset entered into the picture. A way that seems right to a man. Jesus died on the Cross and reconciled us back to God. Back to righteousness and truth. The mindset of God.
Look at a couple examples where our thinking has been twisted by the world. By Satan himself.
World says “Don’t get your hopes up.”
Bible says “Faith is the substance of things hoped for.” Heb 11:1
World says “What you see is what you get.”
Bible says “For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things that are not seen are eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:18
With the fall of man came a mindset that is the antonym of truth. We have to be so careful to not use human reasoning and human wisdom. We have been bought with a high price. We walk in the Spirit. The flesh has been kicked into the grave. We have to make sure it stays there. Satan is a snake, and he is very subtle most times when he inserts lies into our thinking process. We have to know our Shepherds voice. We don’t follow a stranger’s voice. Why? Well, because it’s strange.
I’m growing in grace and learning how to renew my mind on a daily basis. Seeking God in the most secret of places is where we obtain wisdom, understand, and revelation.
If we’re not intimately involved with our Creator, then we will never grow spiritually.
